Moving abroad

I have cards with MBNA and Halifax with balances being paid off. Are there any potential issues with moving abroad and notifying them of the foreign address? They can't demand full payment immediately can they? I intend to cancel once paid off.

Why don't you contact them and ask? Then you'll know for sure.

The only reason for not checking with each institution would be if you were planning to run off without paying, which you obviously do not intend to do.

They will both obviously want their money back, you just need to agree strategies with each.
