O/S Daily Monday 15 March 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air feels cool too, although not so blustery.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, lovely it was too, some LO's so enough to make another meal which may be tonight or tomorrow, I have planned egg, bacon, sausage, beans and mushrooms - so that is the other option, whichever we don't have tonight will be tomorrow nights' dinner.
Back to work today - just want the time to pass so we can know where we all stand and can move forward from this limbo that we're all in at the moment.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Fairly bright this morning, unlike me as I woke up at 4.15 and couldn't get back to sleep. Now the mornings are lighter I think I'll start going for a walk when I wake up early as it's getting light earlier. Washing up to date and house fairly tidy all ready for me to mess up as the week goes on!
I had a lovely meal at DDs yesterday, it was a vegan chinese type meal, very tasty and quite unusual. The little one was on good form so quite entertaining too.
Whole school back in today, will be so good to see them all and bet the parents will be glad to wave them goodbye today.
Hope you all had a peaceful Sunday, hugs to those in need. Anyone heard from Mehefin lately?
Take care. XX15 -
Good morning, fine and dry here but cold. The rain didn't come to much yesterday. Thanks for starting NMLC - surely they've got to tell you something soon at work, you all must be fed up.Camelot, I saw a post from Mehefin on another thread recently, can't remember which one though, might have been Mrs SD's decluttering thread..Hope work is ok for you today.Nothing going on here today, well, apart from the usual jobs. Ds 2 has a replacement car, looks v nice. He's still in pain from whiplash, but the insurance covers treatment so I said to him to get something sorted about it.I had some lovely flowers delivered yesterday, so they are a cheerer upper.Hope everyone has an ok day today - take care folks15

Good morning everyone
Thank you nmlc for starting us off this morning. I hope you get news from your place of work soon xx
Quite a nice morning here today, the back door is open for the dogs and it's not too cold at all.
I don't know what I am going to do today. It was quite an emotional weekend for me so I just want a really quiet day to be honest. Lee goes back to college today and he is very nervous about it but I am hopeful that once he gets back into the swing of it he will be fine.
We had a lovely roast pork dinner yesterday and today I am going to make bacon and spinach pasta for us. I love this as it is so quick and tasty. The kids like it a lot too and have all asked to be taught how to make it.
The weight continues to drop off me which is fantastic. I am definitely more mobile than I was so I am going to start my exercises I had from the hospital physio. I am going to charge up my smart watch so I can track my progress as well.
Hope you all have a good day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A beautiful start here with blue sky and sun. Hope it lasts! It feels milder too.
I had a lovely afternoon/evening at DD's yesterday. Her lovely partner and eldest DGD had done us proud. When DD and I got there, after she finished work, the table was all set for afternoon tea, with the best tea set and glasses out and rose prosecco and strawberry daiquiri chilling. He had been to the Keelham farm shop in Skipton for lots of nice goodies, sandwich fillings, flans etc. It was all delicious and enjoyed by us all.
If the weather holds I should really go out and have a sweep round outside. The patio is a disgrace and needs a good scrub too but maybe another day for that!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, convalescents, carers and p****d off. Take care one and all x

Morning folks.Camelot - enjoy the children!Yesterday was only broken up by an Amazon delivery. Yes, I know that I wasn't going to order anything in March, this was essential. I take an omega 3 capsule every day as I don't eat fish at all and was about to run out of them. I'm not sure if they help but it makes me feel better. I also did a lot of flower deadheading and water changing.
DM got up for a couple of hours to do a little painting 🎨 that gave me a chance to change her bedding and get it washed. The card I bought for her has just disappeared, I searched everywhere without joy so had to use one of the blank ones I keep for emergencies like this.Last night a very old friend of DM made me cry, no, not in a bad way. She wrote me a really sweet and insightful email about my situation and DM. Knowing that she understood things completely and was concerned was so lovely. She asked a couple of deep questions which brought up emotions which I've been stifling for ages. Now it's all out I can stifle them again and feel better for it. 😀
No idea what's in store today. It'll either bring surprises or sloth, I'm ready for either.Happy Monday to all.15 -
Morning milkies! Been upwhat I would now call stupid early to take OH to work. I am agitating for him to pass his test or to get himself a little putt putt to run around on. And I am beginning to regret saying I'd give him a lift. Oh well, gets me up in the monring I suppose, practice for when i do go back to work. Stopped at the shop on the way back to get some cat crack, they were both giving me daggers this morning because of no treats. OHs mum texted to say she liked her present, phew, it reminded her of the stuff she used to wear when she was a proper hippy, so glad about that.So tea to wake up, breakfast in a bit, deciding between cornflakes or scrambled egg, wake up properly and then see what the garden and compost are doing.Hope you all had a nice time yesterday, hope you all be kind to yourselves today...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14

Morning everyone
Nice and bright here too this morning. I need to pop into town this morning to pick up a prescription so I'll go in on one bus and back on the next. I start work at lunchtime.
Eldest DD starts her new job this morning so I'll be thinking of her all day . Yesterday she met her 'buddy' and another girl she'll work with so she'll travel in with them this morning. It takes about an hour - a train then a bus - as the headquarters are in the middle of nowhere. It looks a massive place - like a university campus with sports pitches, gyms and shops.
Youngest DD went for tests on Friday. It seems she has an underactive bladder - basically it's just stopped working. They also think a nerve is damaged at the base of her spine - she may have an operation to fit a 'bladder pacemaker' which will help her bladder to start working again. I feel so sorry for her - she is 22 in a couple of weeks time and she is in constant pain and having to use a catheter. The doctor signed her off work for a month, which she was upset about.
Well I'd better move or I'll get nothing done.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all I didn't pop on yesterday as i was having a bit of a down day the children were all really good calling ,cards and some artisan biscuits and the promise of lunch out when we all can I think it would have been easier if i could have put some flowers on mum and dads grave but unfortunately we are still waiting for a date for the memorial service and the internment of ashes so i didn't have a focal point as such.
Right onwards and upwards the box room is finished hopefully the weather will be kind at the weekend and we can do the last few bits in the garden paint the fence and shed , clean the conservatory wall and plant up the new beds with some flowers . I have booked cleaners to come in to do a pre sale clean next Monday and Tuesday the estate agent . The other house looks like a jumble sale so we need to get over there and decide which furniture we are keeping and what is going as i have been decluttering all the bits from this house so it can be spotless and clutter free for the photos.
I have made a list of jobs to do this week so i will stick to that and should be easier not to get distracted , today is shopping and bed change and buildings insurance .
Right enough of my waffle
Gers I hope mum is doing ok and her meds are doing the trick
Nmic The wait must be like chinese water torture I hope you get some answers soon
Dumpling hugs to you and your family
Hester enjoy the trip out
Camelot yay first day back at school I bet the parents are all smiles today
Nelski Hope the hands are a bit better
Right going to finish my cuppa walk the dog and off i go to the shops Have a great day whatever you are up to stay safe and be kind to yourselves xxSlava Ukraini14 -
Morning, Hugs if you need one.
Waiting for DB to finsh his breakfast so we can pack the car and go round to the chapel with the quilt, wadding etc. Have put the iron and ironing board out to take with us. We were supposed to be going over early, but I fell back to sleep after taking my nasty pill. I cannot wait for the Drs to open again and see if I can get the pill changed for a 6 monthly injection.
New cooker is behaving itself, it will take a bit of getting used to, but I will get there.
Easy supper tonight, egg, chops and beans.11
