Shawbrook Easy Access Savings account - rate reduction?

Anyone else had notification of rate dropping to 0.40% from mid April?

Comments

  • Yep, just received e-mail tonight, checked my spreadsheet and for some strange reason I already had the rate at 0.5%, so not sure where the 0.75% came from, unless it had gone down in between 0.75 to 0.50. I’m usually pretty good at updating falls immediately or at least putting the  future date of reduction next to the  institution.
not good, but considering their offer of 0.60% for a 2 yr fix, could be worse!
this reminds me of years ago when we were receiving weekly letters from our B.S., telling us the mortgage was going up,
Weathered the storm then, so hopefully will now.

    Thanks SallySunshine for confirming.

Have you been with Shawbrook long?

If you don't mind and when you get a chance, would you mind checking your Closed Accounts list and your eDocuments please?

I'm sure I had a couple more old accounts now not shown under Closed Accounts?

Regarding eDocuments, how far back can you go?

Thanks to you and for any other long-standing Shawbrook savers who can help.

Wat? Its only just gone down to .50%!
  • Just gone into my account and looked at messages for the last year.
    issue 15 Easy Access
    started at 1.48%
    June 2020 1.35%
    July 2020 0,75%
now reduction from April to 0.40%
just rang them up to query my info of 0.50%
    Red face here now!
I had moved some funds from that account to some where else.
this brought the account to under £1000, which only gives 0.05% interest.
can’t believe I didn’t realise that and obviously for some reason typed in 0.50%.
Will blame this on lockdown brain fog!
Anyway, no problems with Shawbrook over the years, ISA’s, Notice Accounts, fixed rate bonds. Great service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
