How easy is it the change the 2nd appointment.  Can you change appointment or  cancel then start again.  The one I have is not ideal but I would like to change, however dont want to lose it if I cant get another one close to the original date?
Thanks.

    Covid  injection.
  • I would imagine it would be a case of getting in contact with whoever sent you the appointment and asking them
  • You can manage your Covid vaccination appointments by going to the NHS coronavirus vaccination page - I'm new so not allowed to post the link - and scrolling down to the 'manage my appointments' section.

Looking at the page it looks as though you may have to cancel first before you rebook.

You need to cancel first then choose a new date. The system is designed to stop it being overrun with people trying to move their dates forward by constantly checking the system. If you phone 119 they will tell you the same, they have no way of holding your current appointment while you choose another.
theoretically, you current appointment will go back into the system.....unless someone else nabs it while you are faffing around.

You say that the date you've been given "isn't ideal" as opposed to you not actually being able to attend.

If I were you I'd go ahead and keep the appointment if possible rather than run the risk of not getting your 2nd vaccination within the recommended timescales.
  • It’s a potentially life saving jab, I’m sure whatever else it is can wait for you to have a 15 minute appointment.

I have no idea what I'll be doing when the government eventually gets round to my age group, however I work more than an hour from home and could theoretically be anywhere a client is based at the time (which could be up to 5500km away).

Interrupting a business trip on a route with only 1 flight a week to the UK for a 15 minute appointment is equally pointless (especially if it includes an isolation period at both ends), even though this is pushing it to the extremes and probably in any case won't happen.

Unless your trips abroad are booked at a moments notice, I would have thought that you could schedule the vaccine for when you know you will be in the country. The invitation to book your appointment allows you to book at a time to suit you, appointments aren’t just sent to people.
