Refund sent to a different card

I had my Centre Parcs trip (UK) cancelled due to covid. The booking was in my name, I paid the £600 deposit with my card and then my brother in law paid the remaining £1500 on his card which I have gave him 500 in cash towards our half.
I completed the refund form with Centre Parcs with my details / login and I have found out today they refunded it all to my brother in laws card.
I wouldn't mind but we have had quite a falling out with him over money!
I'm really not looking forward to a battle over getting it off him but my question is should Centre Parcs of done this? Surely they should have sent 600 to my card and 1500 to his or even it all to mine as the main contact? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Their terms and conditions don't say the last card of payment. It says the same card number. I would definitely query this with them
In exceptional circumstances, we may need to cancel your booking. If this
happens we will advise you as soon as possible and offer one of the below
options.
1.A replacement break to the same value as the one you booked. If your
new break is more expensive, you will be required to pay any additional
cost. If your new break is less expensive, we will refund the difference.
2. A full refund.
If we issue you with a refund, we will return your money in the same way
you made your original payment.
In all cases, except personal injury or death, our liability to you for the
total of all claims arising out of your break with us is limited to the cost
of your booking less any insurance, cancellation, amendment or separate
charges.
H6. Refunds
Credit or debit card payments will be refunded via the same card number,
less any non-refundable deposit and any other non-refundable amounts.
Cheque refunds will be made to the person named on the confirmation.

I don't think you can realistically expect suppliers to figure out who paid what on what card and the fact it was all returned to the last card used makes complete sense even if it is inconvenient to you. If you wanted it split, you should maybe have booked separately? Surely your brother in law will not withhold your share? After all you were on good enough terms when you booked the holiday with him. If he does I would threaten to sue him rather than spend time getting centre parcs to recall your portion. They have enough on their plate.0

How would CP know that a booking in your name was partly paid for by another party? Not CP's responsibility to resolve family disputes.
Use the small claims court to recover the money.0 -
