Does small claims court payout count as income

A couple are in a relationship and the woman gets an inheritance payment of £2k for their child from a relative. The man is the only one with a savings account so puts it in there. They separate and the man wants to keep hold of it still for their child. The woman doesn't trust him and asks him to put it in the child's child ISA so neither of them can touch it. He refuses. She goes to the small claims court for the £2k back. The court award it. She gets sent the £2k. But she's on UC. Does it count as income? Does she have to declare it her overall savings before that £2k was just £1k. Thanks

It's classed as savings and as her total savings are less then £6,000 then it's disregarded.
