Green Home Grants

Hi there,
We applied for a Green Home Grant for external wall insulation (it's been confirmed that we don't have cavity walls, the house is from the 1920s).
We made the application on 21st January and to date we have heard nothing further and wondered if anyone knew how long it takes for approval to come through? We desperately need the insulation doing but we are not sure how much longer we should wait to hear back from the scheme.
Thanks.

Theres a huge thread on this already. People who applied November still not got grants. Do a search for it.0

Thank you for the reply.
We have now heard back, but they have advised that the quote we have provided is too high and they need an explanation for it and have asked us to contact the installer for the reason.
We had an absolute nightmare trying to find a trustmark registered EWI installer in order to apply for the scheme and now it seems they will likely reject the application due to cost even though we struggled so much to find companies and obtain quotes.2 -

So much to read, so little time.0 -

With the recent cold weather we have had some damp patches appear and some of the companies when I chased them said they'd only carry out work in the spring/summer months so september would be far too late.
I just want them to accept the quote so that we can get the work started.

Ive been the same. Chasing companies for quotes. One even visited and measured up but didnt send the quote. Fobs me off when i phone, ignores emails!
Others just never reply to emails or phone messages!
How are these companies surviving without giving quotes and doing work1 -
I applied really early, September, with 2 good contractors and a properly completed application. Since then they keep asking for more information - stuff they never wanted right at the start. They have (more than once) lost what I sent them, even though I use my ref no as the title, and I'm really clear about what I'm sending them. I've just waited 6 more weeks, then found out they'd lost the last info I sent them - and this only when I prompted them to find out what was taking so long. And I'm sure I get put at the back of the q each time.
I have applied for the full 10k because of a disabled resident, but we've had no heat since before Christmas other than portable heaters because the 30 year old boiler finally gave up. This happened after the projected date of the new heating ... Surely disabled resident applications should be prioritised! Meanwhile, the energy company (bulb) gave a winter heating grant no fuss. I am pulling my hair out about how this scheme is administered, for instance, it's arcane using emails ... and all the petty fuss about costs just invites the cowboys to do a bad job quickly, instead of the good guys doing it properly. I know there are cowboys out there, I had one give me a quote. I am tearing my hair out about it all, it's just so poor. I used to feel good about being British but it seems so shabby now, nothing is done properly anymore. I've just about given up on this.3
