Urgent help needed Opodo/ Airlines wont refund

I purchased a  trip to the USA and an internal connecting flight on 31/1/2020 thru Opodo travelling with Virgin/Delta 30/9/2020 and return  1/11/2020.
The London to USA leg and USA to London legs were eventually  cancelled by the airline.so that meant I couldn't take the two internal flights. The airline said it was up to Opodo to refund.
Opodo said they were waiting for the airline to refund and that I had to wait until November 2020, November came and went with a :"sorry we haven't been able to get the money from the airlines please be patient"  and I still don't have my money refunded, yet they've had the cheek to charge me an admin fee.
I am now in very poor health and in severe pain, Fibromyalgia / Brain Fog amongst other conditions means I am physically unable to work (use a mobility scooter)  and Brain Fog causes me problems with slow/poor recall and difficulty in processing what and how to do things, causing me to be overwhelmed pretty quickly -like trying to get my money back, which I am now desperately in need of.
Please is there someone who can actually help me/ advocate on my behalf.
I have all the details at hand ready.Thank you in advance.

    A couple of questions
Were all the flights on the same booking or was there any flights on separate booking?
Have you confirmed with Virgin (assuming all the flights were under a Virgin ticket) that Opodo have requested a refund and whether it has been issued?
It is usual for third parties to wait for the refund to be received from the airline before they can refund you. It is also common for third parties to have administration fees to do the work on your behalf (these can be avoided by booking directly with the airline in future) these are detailed in the terms and conditions you agreed to (people may choose to accept without reading but they still apply)
  • It may be worth contacting BBC You and Yours programme. From listening i have learned that for people entitled to a reasonable refund once You and Yours have approached the company and covered it with their research then the refund is forthcoming pretty quickly. see BBC You and Yours site for contact info.
  • The issue you may have is that the internal flights weren't cancelled, so you probably won't be able to claim a refund (unless they were at a later date) - unless you bought it all as one ticket, in which case this doesn't apply.
  • Thanks for your replies.

.The flights were all on the same booking/ticket under Virgin and the London/US  US / London legs cancelled by them due to Covid
Do I call Virgin Customer Services?

Yes and say watchdog or the people you and yours so it's in the public eye. Credit card company and bank if debit card.
  • I booked return flights from Heathrow to Thailand with Opodo using Thai Airways in February 2020 to fly in May and flights were cancelled. I paid with a debit card and am still waiting over a year on for the refund I was promised. Opodo contacted me last in December saying they were still waiting to hear from Thai Airways and I was not to contact them - they would contact me when things were resolved. Is there anyone else who can help or speed this up?
