Alternative to plastic in the freezer?

I use a lot of old Tupperware and sometimes glass jars for sauces. I find I’m always running out of space in the freezer especially for portioned meat and tubs take up too much space so I have been reusing any other plastic bags eg bread bags (surprisingly sturdy), bags from frozen veg and the zip lock grated cheese bags. I wash them each time after defrosting the raw meat and refreeze the empty bag (for storage and hygiene). That way I’m getting extra use out of the plastic I’m already consuming and have enough space in my freezer for all the leftoversOctober Awakening: Food £20/20 Petrol £50/50 Misc £190/194.01 Extra Earnings £100/196.56 SFDs 20/221

I use and reuse (wash) ziploc bags. They last many years. I think reusing what you already have is the most eco thing you can do.3

If you've already got reusable plastic containers, don't just chuck them - that defeats the whole objective of reducing plastic waste - make good use of them!2

Especially as reusable plastic containers last for years - some of my tupperware is over 30 years old, and I have have some elderly Lakeland Plastics containers which have been in use for a couple of decades too.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
