Strange one - Parking ticket and CCJ for a car I haven't owned for years

Hi all,
TL:DR - received multiple requests to pay £351 fine for a supposed parking incident in 2017 on a car I haven't owned since at least 2015.

In November, I received a letter from ZZPS on behalf of Civil Enforcement Ltd requesting payment of £351.52 for a CCJ they had obtained against me .
The letter did not include a date, place or time of supposed incident, just the registration, reference and claim number. The registration was for a car I owned about 6 or 7 years ago! Also, the letter was forwarded to me by my accountants, to whom it had first been sent, which I also found very odd.

I ignored it and received a similar letter from ZZPS then in December (again via my accountant), with the same kind of threatening language, which I again ignored.

Finally, to day I received (you guessed it, via my accountant) a letter from Court Enforcement Services claiming they were taking the matter on, having been instructed by ZZPS on behalf of Civil Enforcement Ltd. It states that unless I pay within 7 days (which has already passed as the letter came via my accountants), Civil Enforcement Ltd is legally entitled to undertake further recovery action and that this is my final opportunity to pay. It mentions that a CCJ has been registered with the Register of Judgments, Orders & Fines and that it's likely to affect my credit rating. Also, for the first time, a date of supposed incident was included on this letter - 21/03/17 - a date by which I had long sold the car.

Now, I've checked my credit rating and whether or not I have any CCJs against me and it's fine and I don't.

The whole thing seems ludicrous but the hassle is concerning me - what advice does anyone have to sort this please and thank you!

But have you contacted the court?  Have you complained to your MP, Trading Standards?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • For context, here are the letters I have received (anonymised).
    Letter 1

    Letter 2

    Letter 3

They haven't even said what Court has supposedly issued this CCJ. I haven't complained to my MP because I'd rather actually deal with this specific issue; I'm just curious as to any advice on how best to deal with these people.

Who is the addressee on these letters?
You as an individual or a company name?
It is that entity that will have received a County Court Judgment.
    Check with Registry Trust.

It is my name and doesn't mention the company at all, so me as an individual. Also, I don't own the car and it was never connected to my company in any way.

Sorry, and the company didn't exist when the supposed offence took place.

Not owning the car is utterly IRRELEVANT to whether they have managed to get a CCJ against you, because obviosuly if you don't defend a claim, no court looks at the evidence - they just default against you.
    What does registry trust state?

I have checked it for my name against my address, my accountant's address and my previous address and all of them come up clear with no issues or records founds.

you may not have owned the car at the time, but were you still the registered keeper at that time?
