CP PLUS/DCB LEGAL

On 24/25 December 2016 I stayed at Travelodge, M4 Motorway Services. I registered my car details with reception for free parking.
In 2020, over 3 years later, I received 3 demands from DCB LEGAL for payment of a Parking Charge I had never received.
As none of these letters followed the required format - in particular, NO TIME for the PCN was included, nor a copy of the PCN I
Believed these letters were a scam so I ignored them.
I did, however obtain confirmation from Travelodge that I was a guest there and that Parking was free.
I also obtained details from the DVLA of all requests for information for my vehicle. This clearly shows that the request from CP PLUS exceeded the time allowed for this request.
Furthermore, CP PLUS did NOT send any follow up copies of the PCN as required to do so.
I have now received A COURT COUNTY CLAIM FORM, which astoundingly contains the line
"The driver agreed to pay within 28 days but did not" which is, of course, totally untrue.
I am 71, currently sick with Covid and furious that these people are allowed to do this.
Any help appreciated, not just in getting the claim cancelled but in complaining about both parties. Thanks.

Complain in writing to your MP too1 -
Please tell us
1) Date of issue of the claim form
2) That you have read the newbies thread on ACKNOWLEDGING SERVICE of the claim form
3) Start working on the defence template. You only show us what youve changed
4) Any reason they didnt get three notices to you? Was your V5c correct and up todate around that time?
5) That line is standard. They mean the driver agreed to pay, because ALL signs will have that line.3 -

Was that six months exceeded?2 -
I have now received A COURT COUNTY CLAIM FORM, which astoundingly contains the lineIf one more poster writes this as if it is ''a thing'' will probably just walk away from this forum. It annoys me so much every time I read this daft line from people who think it means they agreed (as in signed up to 'agree' to pay). Of course it doesn't mean that.
"The driver agreed to pay within 28 days but did not" which is, of course, totally untrue.
How the heck do people zone in on that line so often and act like it's something important?
It's obvious what it means about the driver's decision to park...think about it. In fact, don't think about it, forget that pointless line.
We've already covered this today...and last week...and the week before...
And the NEWBIES thread and the TEMPLATE DEFENCE thread (both at the top of the forum) tell you what points actually need addressing in a defence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You don't owe them anything!! If you get a copy of the invoice from Travelodge and email MOTO head office Customer.Services@moto-way.co.uk attaching a copy of the invoice they should cancel it for you. If you want to phone first their number is 01525 873933.
I have managed to get 4 x PCNs cancelled for exactly this reason, including one which was already a county court claim. Same company CP Plus via DCBLegal.
Make sure you complain very strongly to MOTO about CP Plus behaviour. It's bad enough at the best of times but when you haven't even breached their alleged contract and we are in the middle of a pandemic it is nothing short of disgusting.

We 100% agree that MOTO need to hear people's wrath, again and again and again about the current tsunami of court claims to people for daring to be the registered keeper of a vehicle where a driver stopped to rest at Motorway Services.
MOTO, wake up and smell the coffee, this will plague you now that CP Plus are part of GroupNexus and your customers will be harassed and sued so that the PPC can trouser some money to make up for not being able to penalise as many victims during COVID.PRIVATE 'PCN'? You have to laugh at the stupidity of DCBL
"The driver agreed to pay within 28 days but did not" which is, of course, totally untrue.
What driver is that DCBL ? NAME THE DRIVER ?3 -
How did you get on iyhr?
Did you get the Travelodge receipt and complain to Moto?1
