Working from Home tax code update....or not as the case may be

As per the advice from my employer and on here, I have applied for the working from home tax allowance for the weeks in the last tax year I was working and for the full year for the tax year 2020/21. When I check the progress on this on my government gateway account, both applications are showing as complete (and have done since November last year), however there has so far been no change to my tax code. I saw a comment on the weekly email advising that someone's tax code had been updated within hours of submitting their form. I cannot get through to HMRC on the phone as the automated system advises they are busy and to call again later.
Has anyone had any success in getting their tax code updated to take account of the additional heating/electric expenses since working at home, and how long after submitting the application did it show up on your payslip?

Does the tax code on your personal tax account match the code your employer is using? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

I received a ‘coding change / notice’ letter in the post, within a couple of weeks of applying online.0

I did mine online and my tax code changed in the app within a few days, however it was almost a month before my employer received notice of the change. They then had to submit that notice to payroll, and by the time payroll had processed it they’d missed the cut off date for that month so it took nearly 3 months before anything showed up on my payslip, but as it is a change for the whole tax year I got several months worth applied that month and will be corrected for the remaining months of the tax year.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
