Baby Groups

Hi, so I just need some advice regarding a baby group.
I signed my little one up to a baby group which was all about singing and dancing etc. It was to be held at the local hall and everything was provided. Obviously due to lockdown this can no longer take place and the organiser is now offering it online. My LO doesn’t watch the tv as has no interest and cannot sit down for an hour to do so.
I therefore asked for a refund. The lady has advised that due to COVID she will not be offering a refund.
She explained that she can move the funds to pay for 5 of her classes when she reopens but I’ve paid for 11. Where do I stand? I don’t know how it all works but I think it’s unfair to ask for us to pay for something that is not as advertised.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

I have no idea on your specific question but given that I've not been able to sing with my choir now for a year due to restrictions, how was she going to do a indoor singing session in the first place?2

Did you get any T's and C's provided when you signed up?
And if so, what did they say about changes/cancellations?0 -

These classes are usually franchised so I would imagine there to be some sort of standard policy about refunds. We had a similar situation during lockdown one, but we chose to not ask for a refund as we had a relationship with the lady running them and wanted to continue to support her during a difficult time. But you obviously don't have any such relationship and by now I would expect them to have proper policies in place for cancelled classes. Have you actually asked for a full refund and said you won't be able to make use of the online classes since the first refusal? I'd stick to your guns and say that you understand it's a difficult position, but you aren't willing to pay for something you won't use and would appreciate a full refund ASAP. 'Due to Covid' isn't a valid reason not to offer refunds for services that aren't being provided.1 -
Hi Kattermole, thank you for your response.I got in contact to say we really wouldn’t use this online class so would like a full refund. I said to her that I will definitely like to sign up when her club returns to the “classroom”. I understand it’s a difficult time and if my LO was older I would do the online classes but he just has no interest. Thank you for your response.0

There were no Ts and Cs sent to me when signing up however they have a word document (no idea when this was put on the website) which states, due to COVID we cannot offer refunds.... which is what I’m querying. Also the fact which what is advertised is not what she is offering. Thank you for your response.
