Help with Opodo silence

Hi. In jan 2020 we booked an Return internal Flight in South Africa though Opodo for Late Nov early Dec. The rest of the holiday we have managed to postpone. In early Oct we asked Opodo to change flights to one year later, and even provided them with the airlines guide for travel agents for doing just that. Since then the booked has been “with an agent”. They lie to us (They appear to guess at our situation until we point out that they are wrong) when we finally get through on chat, tell us every time they will update us in 72 hours and never hear from them. We had all the “your flight is ready to check in” from the airline which suggests Opodo didn’t cancel as they were supposed to. The airline won’t talk to us as their contract is with Opodo, but we have today asked if they can confirm that we didn’t turn up! But if neither is talking to us how do we prove that we didn’t fly or that it hasn’t been rebooked? We don’t know what the status is as no one will tell us! Who do we talk to to find out next steps? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you

Hi Madparrot, Did the internal flights in South Africa go ahead. If so, then you are unlikely to be refunded by the airline. You would need to claim via your insurance so check your policy details.0

Not sure whether you are too late but in my case the airline promised me a refund but said I had to get it from Opodo. Opodo wouldn't answer any correspondence. I got a full refund from the credit card company. I think Opodo's refusal to communicate helped me in the end. I stressed to the credit card company that Opodo would not communicate with me.0

Thank you Tedber and fred246. The flight did go ahead but the airline was happy to change our ticket to a future dateIf Opodo told them before our original flight was due to fly, and then they allow a year to use the credit. We couldn’t cancel it directly, so we told Opodo what they needed to do (we gave them Over 8 weeks Notice), and sent them the details for travel agents at the airline asked us to forward on. As far as we are aware Opodo didn’t cancel our original flight but they won’t tell us and at the moment neither will the airline!0
