Mortgage Help

Can anyone give me some advice please.
This pandemic has cost both my husbands job and my own job. We were forced to take a mortgage holiday, as no income for 6 months plus. Our mortgage company agreed to a payment holiday of six months in writing. Luckily my husband has hopefully got a new job so we can start paying the mortgage again. On our credit file the mortgage company had listed that we haven’t paid for six months. We have six red marks therefore this has ruined our credit score. This has had a big knock on for gas/electricity etc when we tried to change.
So my question is, is this allowed? Have we been completely stitched up? I would rather have not eaten and paid the mortgage if I had known.

When was the first mortgage holiday applied for and accepted?
If your mortgage is with a high street bank. building society they should not have marked your credit file for the first lockdown or subsequent one until end October. They would be allowed from November onwards. So something is not quite right here or your holiday was not due to Coronavirus at first.
Come back with details of your mortgage lender and what they have told you when you complained to them.1 -
The mortgage company is Clydesdale and yes it was taken in the first lockdown due to Covid. We have everything in writing to say we could take a mortgage holiday. We then extended by another three months.I have only just noticed this when I have come to change elec/gas supplies.0

You need to find out if it's late payment markers, or just markers for no payment being made - the former is not OK, but the latter is.Mortgage companies are already declining customers for having payment holidays it seems.0
