JAJA missed payment email
" Hi Elmer,
You may already be aware that you were incorrectly charged a late payment fee before your Direct Debit had been taken between Christmas and the beginning of January. We are very sorry that this happened. We have identified the root cause and have taken steps to ensure this will not happen again.
What does this mean for you?
We've refunded all late payment fees applied in error. Please be assured there has been no negative impact to your credit report as a result of this. Please disregard any correspondence you’ve received from us in the meantime regarding the late payment fee applied to your account."
Thing is, I had no notification of a late payment, probably because it was taken and paid on time. Is this just another example of their inefficiency or a blanket email to all due paymentsin that time frame? Luckily only 5 months left to go and then I'll clear my 0% interest balance and close the account.

Just logged in again (7th Jan) and between OP and this post £12 had been taken and returned on 1st Jan according to statement. My DD is actually due 2nd Jan (when it was actually taken).
Confused to say the leastI'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.0 -
Somebody pressed the wrong button. Error was noticed and rectified.0

The system likely hasn't been configured properly. Luckily this has been spotted and rectified.💙💛 💔0

System error. Which would be why you never got notified, as they fixed it before letter was generated.Elmer_BeFuddled said:Just logged in again (7th Jan) and between OP and this post £12 had been taken and returned on 1st Jan according to statement. I would not worry about it. They are aware and have resolved it. Guess they are still trying to get their heads round a new system and rooting out some bugs that are in it.Life in the slow lane0 -
Is it a new system? I thought they were running for ages, even before buying up cards issued by bank of ireland.born_again said:

I assume they got confused because the money didn't arrive on a bank holiday...

Odds on that integration of different systems is causing problems/bugs.phillw said:

Could well be public holiday issue, as payments will not have hit on days expected.
Really is time that banking systems run 7 days a week all year. No real reason that they could not.Life in the slow lane0 -
I guess that some of the challenger banks would love to, but BACS probably will not allow it until they all die and are replaced with millenials.born_again said:
