Vat deferral

With vat registered businesses given the opportunity to defer vat payments till March will this repayment date be extended as many businesses have been disrupted or unable to trade for longer periods than expected when this deferment was offered.

Unlikely, the money for that VAT payment was nearly a year ago. The point was short term help with cashflow whilst other measures were put in place, those measures were CBILS and BBLS.0

According to the link below, you can pay the deferred VAT by the end of March 2021, or spread out over a year:

Really, further VAT deferrals will not massively help any business. This is money that the business should have received by now, even if payment terms are long. Needing to defer VAT payments further may indicate more underlying concern with the business finances.1 -
