Financial crack

Hi all,
I'm hoping for some advice, I went self employed in late august with my small beauty business, since then we had the second lockdown in November until December and then not long after was out into tier 4, I have been made to close my doors and haven't been earning since. I'm not elegible for any financial support, furlough as I'm no longer employed, self employed because I haven't done a self assessment in 16/17 year, even universal credit im not elgible for as my partner is working, I even applied for job seekers with no luck, and still this continues with no help or support. It seems wrong to miss people like me and also making me unable to earn. Please any advice

What were you doing before August ?If you were employed full time and so have a full NI record for the years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 then you should be eligible for 'new style' JSA based on your contributions. (Note that the 'benefits years' that are considered have just advanced - until yesterday they woudl have been looking at years 2017-18 and 2018-19 so if you were rejected before because you didn;t have a good enough contributions record it might be worth applying again).Other than that I'm afraid it's probably down to living off any 'rainy day' savings, having your partner support you or putting the self-employment on hold and looking for some other type of temporary employment.1

This means that the Government think your household has enough coming in to live on - you are simply being treated the same as any other unemployed person with a working partner.
A business that started 4 months ago (whilst in the middle of a pandemic no less) cannot expect any support, so the closure of your business is largely irrelevant.

What were you doing before August?
What did your business plan for a beauty business opening in August, after COVID was a known risk, have by way of contingency for the impact of COVID?0 -
