Hello all,
I am new here so apologies in advance if I am asking that may seem straight forward to others. I currently have a very good credit score and have two credit cards with small amounts on each. Both are 0% interest purchase although one of them can no longer be used to purchase goods at 0%. My credit utilisation is quite low on both.
I was thinking of getting a new laptop but am unsure if it is better to use the existing 0% card to purchase this or whether to use the the manufactures offer of a 12 month 0% payment offer (through PayPal credit). I'd appreciate some thoughts on which is better for score and overall credit situation. Currently my 0% purchase credit card has another 12 months to run until interest is charged so it would be similar in some ways to taking out the PayPal credit offer.
Thoughts and expertise in this area greatly appreciated.

If both are 0% and you pay it off within that term, it makes no difference.
Try an elgibility checker to see what you may get as your chances are based on based on your credit risk, not your credit scores. Equally, any impact on your score can be disregarded. For good credit history, you should be looking to minimise your debt.0 -
Thanks. I don't think PayPal credit do an eligibility checker but I'l check.0

One thing to consider is the issue of customer service and buyer protection. While Paypal is pretty good when you buy things from them and pay outright, I've seen a lot of complaints online about complications/customer service issues if there's ever a problem with an item bought online via Paypal credit.
A 0% credit card may be a better option just from a customer service point of view.Start Debt Jun 2020 = £10,036 - Current £5,894 | #324 £1,000 Emergency Fund Member - £2051 -
True. Since PayPal is a middleman in the transaction, customers are losing their Section 75 protection that normally applies to credit cards.ceremony said:One thing to consider is the issue of customer service and buyer protection.
