Sports club charging full fee although shut

Hello
I was hoping someone could advise on the following situation:
My son joined a swimming club just before being put in Tier 4 and the leisure centre is now shut of course. I am being asked to pay the not insignificant monthly fee although no swimming lessons are being held. The communication from the club is poor to say the least.
Has anyone had similar issues?
My husband has no income due to not being eligible for furlough and it is simply money we cannot afford to pay for nothing.
TIA

You can't charge for a service that you aren't providing.0

I run a sport club and don’t charge my members when it’s closed. No one has ever become poor by giving0

The OP post isn't clear as to what is being paid for. The indication is they joined an actual club, not merely paid for lessons.
If it is lessons being charged for which aren't being delievered no payment should be made.
If they joined an actual club i.e. a health club which offers swimming as part of membership the T&Cs need to be checked.
I'm a member of a rugby club and all subs were due as usual as costs were still being incurred, despite there being no games.0
