My annoyance comes to the actual queue at a checkout, people don’t socially distance, they are basically up your backside, I hate it!
You can shout please stand back. Some supermarkets have colleagues running the back and have asked customers to stand back.

    b) has someone to do their shopping for them. Would you rather they starve to death?
What utter crap you talk.  I live in small town of 20K people and our local town/parish councils with the help of the county council set up convid teams to help people who were shielding/living alone/eldery and could not get out to get shopping and presecritptions etc also would ring the people every week or so to check if there was any more help that they needed.  I don't remember hearing of anyone starving or dying because they did not get their meds in my local town.
Pretty sure all councils up and down the country were doing the same.

What actions have your friends/family taken to make them feel safer in their working environment?

The govt/NHS should have issued cards with card holder & lanyard with security features - such as those found on driving licences to be issued to those with genuine exemptions . No facial covering or card, no entry.

These cards would have cost money, took time to implement and would have been forged too, also who is going to enforce the cards?
What should the govt done with those who are genuinely exempt from wearing masks? Anyone could download a “I’m exempt from wearing masks” sign for their mobile and Tesco were giving the sunflower lanyards like sweets. Should only got the lanyards from GP practices etc and from the OK from a doctor

Also those anti masks people are the type to kick off, shout abusive language and other nasty things.  As seen it myself

I would be interested to know what is happening in other countries, I'd guess all are wearing masks and just getting on with it.

Don't you think GPs and Medical Centres have enough on their plate?

What winds me up is the number of people in shops without masks, OK some may not have to wear one for health reasons,
but some look pretty healthy especially when the whole family come in without masks.
Someone my wife works with doesn't wear a fabric mask because of issues ;) when suggested she could use the plastic visor/shields said don't be silly they make me look stupid

The issue with beards and masks only applies to medical/ surgical masks ie the ones worn by staff in hospitals. They have tight fitting masks of superior quality and functionality. The masks, or face coverings currently worn by the general public do not create any form of seal, so a beard or other facial hair is academic.
Of greater importance is that the mask covers the nose and mouth...
Which are the only ones (N95/FFP2) that actually work - when they are as you say correctly fitted, disposed off regularly and safely removed when doing so.
The rest as evidenced by the steady rise in infections during the public's mask-up mandate since August do pretty well sod all.  and that's before considering most will live in the driver's car footwell and have been used a hundred times+ by now
