Covid test before tenerife

Hi,
I booked tenerife in 2019 for December this year and had resigned myself to not going until the quarantine restrictions had recently been lifted. Now I have to get a PCR test before going. I think I need to get this privately as the NHS doesn't issue certificates to fly (plus I don't think the NHS should be burdened just because I want to go on holiday). My partner says that we should get a test on the NHS. Morally i don't agree but want to be able to 100% say they won't give us a certificate.
Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance

Where has it been stated you need to have a test before going to Tenerife? I know this has been talked about but has this actually been confirmed anywhere?0

If you get the test on the NHS, and they don't provide the necessary documentation to fly, what does your partner propose to do when the airline don't let you board, or the Spanish Authorities don't let you enter Tenerife?
Edit: I've just looked at a news story saying you will get a test on arrival in Tenerife?0 -
No requirement for a test as it stands, either before or on arrival. If this is out of date, please say so.

It seems that the Canary Island's Governments do wish to have some sort of testing requirement, but have been in discussions with Madrid over how that may look. Would appear nothing is finalised yet.0

In any case, in answer to the OP, in the likelihood you do need to have a test before you go (which is not confirmed yet), it has been stated by the Health Secretary not to use up the NHS quota if you dont have symptoms. Obviously on your conscience be it. Saying that, you may not get results back in time given backlogs.
Given you arent going until December, worry about it a bit nearer to the time, things change so often anyway.0 -
You can only get a free test if you actually have the symptoms.

The discussions involve testing on arrival at your destination hotel , positive test and you get moved straight away to a designated quarantine hotel for 14 days .
Nothing agreed

What if you are unable to book a test that enables you to get the results in time? Leaving a lot to chance.0
