Timeshare refunds

I have had a phone call advising me that the laws on timeshare sales has changed and timeshare owners could be entitled to some or all of their purchase price back. They are calling me back later today to discuss. Is this a scam or has anyone heard of this?

This screams 'scam' to me. Please report back when you have more detail but do not hand over any money or bank details to these people. Who is your timeshare company?

I would suggest it is 100% a scam. Decent companies do not call out of the blue, usually they want you to go to a meeting at which various unbelievable offers will be made, all of which will require you to part with money. Please avoid like the plague, particularly if the HQ is in Truro, a known hotbed of timeshare troubles0

The OP hasn't actually said it was a cold call but I think we are all assuming it really amounts to that. Even if the OP is taking active steps to get rid of the timeshare, anybody contacting them should make it clear if they are calling on behalf of the timeshare company. I've not heard of any change in the law which provides automatic entitlement to partial or full refund.
