Easyjet cancelled our return flight but not our outgoing flight . As always Easyjet makes life difficult , we applied for the refund on the understanding that as both flights were made on the same booking that Easyjet were obliged to refund the whole booking money , can someone confirm I am correct in our understanding as just received an email to say to didn’t use our outgoing flight and to claim from our travel insurance for this leg!

if they were on the same booking they should refund both
their online refund form states "Once the online refund request is processed, it will be applied to all flights on the booking, excluding any flights that have already been flown"
  • That was my interpretation many thanks for the back up

Were you a no show,  i.e, you took no action ?
  • My flight has been cancelled, not sure what option to pick as I will fly easyjet again probably but don't know when. How long do refunds take?if its months and months then I may just take the voucher

Don't know about others but mine took about a month, from claiming in late July to money back in the bank by late August.
  • easyJet class this as two separate flights. i saw this on a consumer programme recently. so they will refund you but it if it is the return that is cancelled and not the outbound they will refund you nearer to the time of your booking for the return. You will not get both refunds process at the same time. I know this for sure.
  • So no they are not being difficult at all. You just want the total refund in one go which won’t happen
