What's changed since you originally accepted the vouchers?
Well I accepted the vouchers early in APRIL - did you (or anyone else) know THEN that Covid was going to be this hard to defeat?
I didn't.
I appreciate all the replies - even the negative ones. Yes it was my fault for accepting vouchers on the ASSUMPTION that we would be free of this evil virus well before next May. And yes, I accept that there could have always been a change of aircraft. I wanted to go on the iconic 747 before it disappears completely and so chose BA even though they were nearly double the cost of their competitors. The last (and only) time I flew on a 747 was in 1982!
As for using the vouchers elsewhere: we are not a jet-setting family - we would normally only make a trip like this once every 8-10 years. The only other flights we take are regular short-haul to Brno in the Czech Republic - and BA don't fly there!
People saying I haven't lost out because I can use the vouchers to fly to somewhere that I don't want to go, are entitled to their opinion - but in my opinion is, that is completely unfair.
Anyway - there is still time. We will just have to wait & see what happens...

Spanish Flu provides enough history as to how difficult a global pandemic would be to contain. Unfortunately the internet nor Alexis can provide instant answers. A wake call for many I suspect.
