Has anyone got any advice on how we insure a property. We own the property with a mortgage and my father in law lives there rent free. Its informal arrangement with no paperwork in place. He pays utility Bill's and council tax but that is it. What is the most affordable way to correctly insure the home for building and contents. Thanks

He is living there with his contents which he insures.
You own the property which you insure. You will have to be truthful on any questions on the buildings insurance application.
You have obviously informed your lender that you no longer live there and have appropriate permissions?
