I booked a holiday to Cyprus for me and my family 6 of us for this year but with everything going on decided to move to 2021 did this on line and felt really proud of myself unfortunately it’s not all inclusive and not same accommodation Long story short have had to cancel due to the fact it was going to cost me another £1600 which after losing my job I cannot afford I have Lost £1500 and find TUI haven’t helped me at all I understand I will lose my deposit but that was £300 am I being stupid thinking this isn’t right

Perhaps not stupid, but naive. If you don't want to go on the holiday and you don't want to move it to another time, then you're cancelling the holiday and will be subject to their cancellation terms0

Not stupid, just not familiar with the way holiday companies like TUI operate under their Ts&Cs.When a customer cancels a holiday or cruise then they are responsible for the full deposit - if sufficient notice is given. If you cancel within this timeframe only the deposits are forfeited, otherwise there is a sliding timescale for partial refunds.I'm not clear how you have "lost" £1500 - unless you have cancelled within the 70 day period indicated above.
