Closed Credit Card - No final statement

Looking for some advice, I cancelled my credit card a few months ago (Santander 123) and wasn't ever sent a final statement. I asked them about this but was told as the account is now closed they don't have access to this! They could only tell me that it was paid off in full (as it wouldn't be possible to cancel it otherwise). Surely they legally have to provide me with a final statement?

No, but they do need to provide annual statements.

Alternatively, if you need something earlier, send a SAR, although that won't give you a statement in the format you normally see.
  • Nope they legally don't though as @Deleted_User says they do have to provide annual statements.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
