Hi,
I had a hot point fridge freezer delivered yesterday. We left it upright without turning it on for 5 hours and then turned it on overnight and this morning it is still not cold. The freezer is a little but cooler but no way what it should be. We've used the reset option. can hear a motor running in the back like a buzzing kicks in. It also has the superfreeze/supercool option and that doesnt make a difference. I have tried to call hotpoint but they are closed because its a bank holiday 😖 just looking for any options/advice? TIA

12-24 hoursDepending on the type and size of your freezer, it generally takes anywhere from 12-24 hours for your freezer to become cold enough to keep food frozen. A good way to test this is to put an ice cube tray with fresh water into the freezer - when the ice cubes are frozen, it is cold enough to freeze your food properly.

Earlier this year we brought our old fridge freezer back into use and it took about 10 hours to get pretty cold. If it isn't cold after 24 then I would say that it is faulty. Given that it is a bank holiday you may as well let it run until tomorrow to get a definite idea of the situation.
If you decide that it is faulty then you should contact the company that you bought it from as that is who your contract is with.
You could simply tell them that it is broken and that you want a replacement. You are well within time to reject the goods but the sooner you do so the better. Try to avoid going down the repair option as it could take some time given all the Covid issues. A simple replacement would be the ideal option0 -
Hey thanks for your replies. Its not making any sounds now whatsoever, no humming/buzzing and there is a beeping sound constantly going with doors closed. I'll just have to be patient and call them tomorrow but a lot of food wastage 😖

It's standing there empty isn't it?... until it is cold enough to freeze food.1 -
call them up, get a refund and not a fix. Either buy the same or another brand.
Unsure if it is frost free or not, but it can take a day or two to start freezing items, if the fridge is full
If you bought a non-frost-free freezer it takes under an hour for frost to form on that rear aluminium heat exchanger0 -

Thank you!
There should be a button to turn sound off.
You should really have not put food in? until the freezer was at frozen temperature. Takes longer than just over night.
