PC/PS4 sound bar/speakers

Hi, I was given a widescreen monitor with wireless keyboard/mouse so bought a cheap desktop unit as it makes WFH easier than using a laptop. I have no external audio. I also have a PS4, which I hopefully can connect to the monitor via a HDMI cable. So my question is about external audio. I remember slightly tinny pairs of speakers when I last had a desktop (many years ago) but presumably there is a something a bit niftier, like a sound bar (Sonos is out of my price range, but something good for around £100 should be fine). So if I watch Netflix or video on my desktop, I'd love it to have good sound. Likewise if I shift to using my PS4 with the monitor, the same. Does anyone have any thoughts? And a dumb question, the sound bar would connect to the monitor?
Cheers!

Have a look at Majority K2 from amazon , takes HDMi(arc) and Bluetooth plus Optical , of course it's down to your ears https://www.amazon.co.uk/Majority-Soundbar-Surround-Sound-System/dp/B08BLRPVB5/ref=sr_1_4?crid=GFCMHWOA7ZGU&dchild=1&keywords=majority+soundbar&qid=1598383472&sprefix=majority,aps,160&sr=8-4The FM radio is alright if you have a strong signal otherwise it's pants but I don't want it for the radio I prefer Internet via B/T via PC/phone/tablet which is very good

If the monitor has enough inputs you could connect PC and PS4 for video but I would be surprised if the monitor can output sound over HDMI, the HDMI sockets are usually for video in only. A TV usually has an HDMI ARC socket to output sound to a soundbar or Home cinema.
A used home cinema receiver would allow you to connect both sources to the AMP with HDMI and select which one outputs to screen and speakers. You could start with two speakers for stereo and add a sub and rears if you wanted. Probably a bit more bulky than you had hoped.
A bit more searching than I have time to do might turn up a soundbar with 2 HDMI inputs and HDMI passthrough for video.

Struggling for space? Not into audio that much, but wont a set of speakers work better than a sound bar?
I remember my first set of quad speakers and the helicopter sound test, close your eyes and you would think
it was circling you.

I felt sorry for the neighbours of my friend. Did the same test, but built speakers the size of a small wardrobe. So it probably seemed like a real helicopter to them.
Not to mention that I played bass and my friend the guitar. What were we like, eh?0
