I need a laptop £250-£500 for work at home simply having 8 webpages open at a time to move documents back and to and a occasionally bit of YouTube etc nothing major. Seems to be the 4gb HD are around £300 and if go to 8gb around £500. Do I need 8gb? It will be used like a ipad not for editing, photoshop any of these things. I may put photos on it that's it.
Any advice?

The difference in memory on its own doesn't account for for the extra £200. Something else will have changed between the laptops.

What £300 for 4GB and £500 for 8GB what is it Apple?? 4 extra GB would cost about a max £50.

All the above comments are true, an extra 4gb of ram does not constitute £200 in price!
Ps if you are using multiple web pages then yes more ram is better, Google chrome (and Microsoft edge which is build on the same foundations as chrome) are very heavy ram users, that's what makes them so fast. If you want good performance then 8gb should be plenty. 4gb might be enough but it can slow down your experience, especially if the web pages are modern pages with tracking, adverts, videos etc0 -

I can get this for £385 any good?0 -
It appears to be £479 to me. But yes, something like that will do the job. SSD is a proper one, not a MMC job.
