POPLA appeal for MET Parking Services

A friend of mine got a parking ticket recently so I've informed them of the newbie thread to help them out. They want to write a letter to the land owner so they may consider having the ticket cancelled. That letter to the land owner, should that be written from the perspective of the driver or the keeper or doesn't it matter for them? I understand that writing a letter to the parking company or POPLA should be written from Keeper perspective only but it feels like a letter to the land owner wouldn't be effective if written in the same manner. Thoughts?

(Edit: the title of this thread started off as: Keeper' and 'Driver' reference when writing letter to land owner? but I changed it once it turned into a POPLA appeal thread)

If they use the royal 'We', there's no big issue .... 'We parked', 'We visited', 'We stayed', 'We shopped', 'We ate' ........
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

They can write as keeper or they can say such things as: -
"The car in which I was a passenger" or "We were visiting your shop/pub/restaurant when ........."  Just don't use "I" in case the PPC get to see it.  A keeper has more protection in law than a driver.

As above , the royal WE works wonders and avoids convoluted sentences like "the vehicle in which I was an occupant"

We visited your shops , we got a PCN , we are annoyed , we , we , we , so not Wii

Ps, it does not have to pass a GCSE English test for grammar , just be heartfelt , natural , even if it would be marked down because it does not use , My , Me , Myself & I

There's a god example of a landowner complaint that had some humour to it but worked.  Anyone recall where?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and an independent appeals service will be set up,

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Gotcha, about using the terms "we". I'm guessing, in the letter to the land owner, it is okay to add the specific reference of the parking charge notice number? After all, if they did decide to cancel the charge then they'll need to know which charge to cancel?

Yes you will need to include the PCN number and possibly the VRM.
