Use it just for receiving calls and for Banks etc, not put any credit on it for more than a decade, today received a text saying if do not make a call/send a text within next 30 days service will be terminated, does anyone know if making 0800 call/ sending free automated text saying run out of credit can you phone me counts as having made a call/sent a text

This is more likely going to be a need to make a chargeable call or text.Just call your landline, let the answer machine pick it up, problem solved.2

No credit on phone which has been the case for 10 years + thus cannot make a chargeable call, is ancient Nokia phone works fine locked to Virgin not cheap to unlock from memory

Virgin are in process of swapping out SIM cards for new ones which will be why this has come up. Would be worth calling them from another phone and asking for one.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
