Hi, as my home insurance is due for renewal, I have been looking at reviews of insurance companies. The results  confusing. Some companies are highly rated on one website and are slated on others. It seems the info should be taken with a pinch of salt.I imagine some of the reviews are biased  for whatever reason. Does anyone know where to find actual real statistics on how many claims were successful pecentage wise. Is this info secret or hidden for any reason or am I just bad  at searching the internet. Some articles claim a 20% less chance of a positive claim. Thanks in advance

Commercially sensitive and will vary depending on the underwriting practise and target market of the various insurers.

    Also, define successful?

an old survey showed over 95% of people said they would overstate a home insurance claim in the event of a burglary. Is a successful claim where they get away with it or where they’re caught?

If you don’t buy accidental damage, drop your tv and then email a claim in how does that go in the stats?

Most insurers pay out in line with the terms of their policies, many customers don’t understand what they are buying and this leads to issues

Many of the review sites are funded by payments from retailers / Insurers etc they have the option of "Managing" their reviews and/or automatically messaging a customer to write a review. The reviews that are triggered by a message after buying an Insurance product are almost always 5 star as the customer is pleased as they saved money.
Learn to decipher the reviews and which reviews sites to rely on and reviews will make more sense
