Combined Freeview+ HDD recorder and DVD player

Anyone know of a decent combined DVD player and Freeview Plus hard disk recorder? Panasonic do a DMR-PWT550EB but it's £300 at John Lewis. Trying to reduce the number of separate boxes

Do you need 4k support?  That'll be what is pushing the price up for something like that.  A 4k player on its own is £150, a Blu-Ray player on its own is about £50, standard hard drives are about £35 for a 500Gb, so you're paying £65 for everything else that box can do.

Thanks @Neil_Jones it's actually for my mum and no, she doesn't need 4K or bluray, just a basic DVD player.
