One of my friends was caught out because she couldn't get her keys until 5 pm on completion day - apparently there is a 'late key' insurance you can take out with bigger companies.

I decided to support a small family run firm and paid £980 to move ten doors away.  I tried to get them down on the price, but they said it was because of the 18 steps at my house, and the difficult access.

I’m currently looking at removals costs and have had 4 different companies in so far. The quotes are anything from £4.5k to £6.5k and that’s with us doing the packing! We live in a 3 bed end of terrace in West Essex moving to Suffolk. I wish our quote was £3k! We’d also budgeted £2k so wildly underestimated it! The only thing I have insisted upon is that they are members of BAR.
@hpotter Did you try Peglers or Inline Removals? Can highly recommend both.

We moved here 3 years  ago, paid about £300 for the removal men to do the packing on the morning of the move and the whole cost was well under £1000. It seems that prices have gone up considerably since then!  :o
    It's not difficult!

  • Go on AnyVan website and give them a ring then quote what items you want moving.
I just calculated on their website that a move going from Manchester to London would cost £1.3k with the items you've listed. They're professionals as well. I've used them 5x without problems.
