Furlough after notice handed in

I worked as an events coordinator for a big UK retailer. I handed my notice in and left in late March to go travelling. I noticed on the show you can still claim furlough - can I still do this now & can I back claim furlough and if so how would I go about doing this? Thanks, hannah

No. Far too late, final cutoff was the 10th June.

    Employees don't claim furlough.

It's a benefit paid to employers to assist them in retaining employees. Hence why it's correct name is the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, or CJRS for short.
  • You could have asked your employer to take you back to work and keep as furlough, as they are able to claim for their employees. Though it was for people who were made redundant and not gave in notice to leave.
The deadline to submit for March to June is 31st of July so there might still be a chance.

There is no chance. If people were not on furlough before June 10th, they cant start now.

Nice idea Hannah, but looks like you completely missed the point.
