Virgin Media account credit refund without leaving

I have been with Virgin Media for my phone and broadband for years than I can remember and now have a large amount of credit on my account that i have build up. I have tried to ask to get the money refunded back to my bank account but the agents I have spoken to will not do so. I have spent a long time trying to research my rights when it comes to getting account credit back without leaving the supplier but I can not find anything. Please could you advise on what my rights are and how I could get the money back into my account.

Yes I know its used against your bill, a few £100 from referrals. But I can't seem to find any posts of credit refunds like energy companies do?
