Vendor Solicitor not sending draft contract pack despite chasers

It's 4 weeks since we had our offer accepted on a no chain transaction. My solicitor has still not received the contract pack despite the EA telling me the vendor has returned all the forms. It is so frustrating because it just creates unnecessary delays on what should be a straightforward transaction. I don't think anyone needs delays in this current climate!
I've been emailing the EA every day asking him to chase the solicitor but I am conscience that I am going to get on his nerves (If I haven't already done so)
My irrational mind tells me that the vendor might be pulling out, but then the rational side of my mind tells me that the EA would have already told me if this was the case.
Would feel much more comfortable knowing the legals were at least underway!! Can I do anything other than just keep chasing and annoying the EA?

The vendor might need to pay a deposit as well before they release.  Have they paid anything?

Otherwise now would be a good time for them to change solicitors!

You can point out to the EA that you will need to look elsewhere if their client isn't going to progress the transaction.

Book a viewing with the same EA for somewhere else, if they're  not bothered, why should you?

Of course, he might not have filled them in sensibly... Is there any external source, such as a freeholder, who may also need to provide information?

And, of course, "this current climate" may be exactly what's causing the delays.

I thought the vendor had sent the paperwork to the sol, and the delay was the sol...?

@AdrianC no other party involved, it’s a freehold purchase. The EA told me there had been a slight delay as the solicitors needed our seller’s husbands death certificate but that they’d since received that.

Thats why I said my “irrational” mind. I’m a complete worrier. My rational mind is telling me it’s the solicitors who are not in a rush. I just want to be getting on with things. We decided to buy this particular house due to no forward chain and my solicitor said we could be done and dusted within 6 weeks.
The delay on the other side is very frustrating!
I want to get the EA pushing them without him thinking (knowing) I’m neurotic!!

When did you receive your mortgage offer?  Received your searches back yet?

My sellers solicitor took a whole 14 weeks before replying to mine. They've gone silent again too. Im buying off a Housing Association though so theres nobody really cares if i pull out or not so i just have to put up with it now.

I understand how extremely frustrating it is though.

shouldn't cause a delay though with the draft contract, I sold mother's house and didn't need to produce death certs for both parents until much later

    @Thrugelmir
mortgage was agreed last week (subject to valuation which will I’m sure be fine)

can my solicitor order searches before receiving pack from other side? If he can then I’m going to ask him to do so. I got the impression he couldn’t do anything at all yet and I’m aware the searches generally take the longest
