Can I patrician my new PC to accommodate Picassa?

Hi
Although I mainly use an up to date iPad for most of my stuff I still run an old PC running Windows XP mainly for Picassa for my thousands of photos. Have not found a suitable replacement for Picassa having tried a few. Love both the sorting and the editing. Along with seemingly everyone else I really wish Google hadn't forced this out. Anyway, I do need a new PC as this one takes 10 minutes to start up and am aware of potential hacks as banking etc also occasionally done on this and I can hear that the fan is struggling. So....if I buy a replacement PC would I be able to create a patrician to run XP and use Picassa?
Thanks

Yes but you should install XP first and any newer OS later. Or use a virtual machine.
Not tried picasa for a long time. What have they done to it? Install an older version and make
sure updates are disabled.

OP have you looked at Google Photos? It does what Picassa did so you should be fine.

ThanksIf you do invest in a new PC, you will probably have a Windows 10 machine. That has Windows' own Photo app, which is perfectly fine for most users, including myself, a 75 year old. I was quite annoyed too when Picassa was cancelled, started using Google Photos under Windows 7, then switched to Windows 10 and now I can happily use either, and switch photos I want from my phone's Google account to Windows Photo. Clicking on any of the Windows Photos opens them and there is a Edit button. So you would not need another partition for XP, which to be honest is dangerous to use now.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Not everyone has your command of the English language, nor your sarcastic tendencies.
