Self employed & employed

My husband is self employed, he has been for over a year, during lockdown he has not had any work but has been offered employment with a firm for 4 months, he is tempted but needs to know if he can go back to self employed after this without any hassle?  He will not be doing any self employed work whilst working with this company?? Anyone help?

Shouldn't be any issue if he returns to the work and working practices HMRC have already accepted as being valid self employment. Plenty of people are both employed and self-employed at the same time if they have more than one source of work.

Oh thank you for your help, we where in a quandry over it! He needs the work, he fell through the gaps with all the self emp help so no income for the duration of lockdown :-(  but if it was going to cause havoc with his self emp we didn't know what to.  Thank you for helping. xx
