Leaving a job off my CV

Hi all
I have another thread here explaining I have an investigatory meeting which I know will lead to a disciplinary and has a very good chance of my dismissal. (I did something foolish)
With what's happening with Covid19 and have a gross misconduct on my file, I would find it virtually impossible to get any job.
So my questions is, I'm 34 and been with my most recent employer 2 and a half years. If I do get dismissed for GM am I best just leaving it off my CV and explain away the time as working towards my degree (as the company was paying for it and I would only be 1 year away) and helping to care of my father, he has extreme health issues and has had for a number of years with my mum caring and working. And say I dropped out of university to care for my dad but now I'm looking for work.
If I don't do something I have virtually no chance of employment in the current climate and I don't know what I'd do with myself.

You need to have a very good memory to get away with a long string of lies such as you are proposing. You might get away with a short gap with a phoney story to cover it, but a 2 1/2 year gap is more likely to get you 'sifted out' from the application pile.

You would be worrying all the time what if they found out, especially if it is similar sort of job, your new manager might know somebody from your old company.0
