Win 10 Laptop 2/1/ Tablet Help

I have an old faithful Dell XPS 10 years old that has been brilliant and still is with the SSD I installed (Win10) but I also have a Nexus Tablet that I use for reading (RB Digital App) a lot. The Nexus is needing the battery charging every couple of days and I suspect it' son it's way out. My thinking is it will probably be better to replace with a windows device and as I haven't been in the market for anything for about 10 years the choice is bewildering.
What I want it for:
Reading - so lightweight and possibly 12" + screen
Normal internet browsing
Running MS Office
I also need to be able to load some old software on it (Quicken2000 that does run on WIN10) - this bit is a non negotiable as I have accounts on this going back 20 years (sad I know
)
Oh and the ability to connect to a 4k monitor.
Budget as low as possible but definitely no more than £1,000

Yes choice are almost endless
Losing the will to live sorting out what spec I'd need!!0 -
Well in good old money saving style I've decided to leave it until they give up the ghost. Basically I'm not sure either of the devices would double up as a useable reader so it would have to be a tablet and a laptop. Laptop specs are both coming in over £1,000 although the XPS would be my choice again I can't justify the expense
My last XPS set me back £650 and it's been great. SSD gave it a new lease of life a couple of years ago. Just need to make sure I keep backing stuff up a bit more!0
