No matter what you or your bank say, there is absolutely nothing to be gained by using Trusteer that any modern browser and AV won't give youl.
In fact Trusteer causes more problems than it solves.....Even Which doesn't recommend it....See HERE.

Just out of interest, for anyone storing their faith in Which recommendations, you might like to read some of the reviews on Trustpilot.
I’m not going to say any more on Trusteer on this thread follow previous posts as it is clearly becoming a distraction from the main topic for which the thread title was created.

Sorry, your reliance on Trustpilot is misguided.  https://www.seotraininglondon.org/can-you-trust-trustpilot/
I only posted the Which article because I know many on here rely on them for reviews, but, there are many others.

    Trusteer Rapport is garbage.
It might be useful in a very limited scenario, where you have already let an attacker connect to your computer and he is now guiding you to your onlink bank page so he can watch what you type. But thats it.
The 'side affects' are terrible, it really is a piece of !!!!!! .
Of course your bank are going to recommend it, they dont care what your comnputer runs like, only that they dont lose money.

Oh and to the OP .. Dont let ANY AV lull you into a false sense of security with 'safe banking' etc.
You now are using an OS (W7) with out security patches . NO AV CAN GUARD YOU AGAINST AN OS VULNERABILITY

    upgrade to Windows 10
    go to Windows 10
    windows 10
    windows 10
    Windows 10

if the OP has no interest in moving to windows 10.

Some still believe that the option for a free upgrade is over.
    As an aside;

Some banks which previously promoted the software have discontinued it. For instance, NatWest and RBS withdrew use in January 2019, stating that "The security and fraud prevention technologies we now use provide you a higher and far broader level of protection

I know I for one would prefer to follow a strong recommendation by my own bank particularly on a matter as important as online banking no matter what detractors might have to say, even those who post on this website!
Sorry, I've wasted too much of my life with friends who's PC has stopped functioning properly due to cr-apport to agree with you.
Seems like many others here agree.  🤔

    Methinks you exaggerate!!
I did say that my last post on this subject would indeed be the last, but it seems rather than try to help the original poster, there seems to be motivation for some in using the thread as a means of rubbishing a particular product which I now see has been well discussed on other threads.
Interesting that the links included by Robisere are not quite as relevant as OP would have us believe.
OP seems to think that version 1908 is the latest version of Rapport which is no longer being supported. In actual fact the latest build is Emerald Build 1955.62 so that is a bit of misinformation to start with.
Similarly, the reddit link is over a year old.
And again the reference to Microsoft is April 2018.
All I can say is that as I have acknowledged in my previous posts, I have experienced the anomalies of the product which did seem to lag behind updates to firefox and chrome browsers, but which did eventually catch up. For the last year or so, I have not had any issues with it whatsoever and it is certainly not resource hungry on my own desktop (task manager currently showing 0.1% CPU).
But it really is of little concern to me that there are those who trash a product which is recommended by reputable banks and which is supported by a reputable global company.

So the links are older.......Just goes to show how long it's been recognised as a pile of worthless junk.
    Reputable Banks???? Oxymoron...
