11th hour as in before the next statement is generated. The due date is 5 days vedore the next statement date
You were given the date on your previous statement when the payment was due. If it was not made on or before that date it was late. If it was due on say 2/6/2020 then it's due on 2/6/2020. If you pay it at 00:00:01 on 3/6/20, a second after midnight, it's late. It doesn't matter whether it was made one day, three days, five days or whatever before the next statement date if that date was different to what the statement said was the date it was due. Because of weekends the date payments are due can and do fluctuate so thinking it is a fixed X days before the next statement date is a very dangerous way of carrying on.

Ok dad, I didn't ask for a lecture.
All I was looking for was what m&s will file on the credit report. If you don't know move along.

Hopefully a late payment given that display of immaturity. Why did you bother to ask the question if all you wanted was people to tell you what you wanted to hear?
You signed up to a contract, you didn't make the payments on the date due, you're in breach of that contract therefore they're well within their rights to flag it as a late payment. If they've charged you a late payment fee it's pretty likely you'll get a late payment marker. Had you contacted them the day after it was due, doing something you're incapable of which is to eat a bit of humble pie they likely wouldn't have charged you the fee or put the marker on. But you didn't so they have.

Been a long time since I had an M&S card but they used to be fairly reasonable. I’ve certainly on occasion been a day late with payment (I’m talking about once every 4-5 years, life happens) and card issuers have  waived the fee and didn’t make any report.
If it is a genuine one off then I expect they’ll see you right.

You can't help it can you? Did you even read the thread. NOT LATE FEES WERE LEVIED. People like you just jump onto threads to have a go at people and lecture people because you have nobody in the real world to moan to.

In fairness, the thread is titled with the phrase “NOW late payment fees”, so please consider forgiving any confusion.

You posted "now late payment fees" in the title of the thread or did you forget that? No wonder your finances are in a mess.

That was a typo, and the 2 line opening post would have confirmed that. what does "now late payment fee" even mean. It makes no sense. "Got late payment fee" makes sense.
Finances are fine, even if it is was a mess, what does that concern you? Mind your own business, stop being nosey.

You're the one coming on here giving out information to everyone, if you want people to mind their own business then don't post your information. Not my fault you can't spell a simple two letter word because given that there is an extra letter on the word now compared to no and the W is on the other side of the keyboard to both the N and O it's not a typo.

i missed a payment of £6. I had a notification on my phone from the Halifax app but by the time is saw it was past midnight and therefore the next day. I paid it there and then and rung them next day. the lady on the phone said she will credit some pennies to cover the interest for 1 day and there will NOT be a late payment but the interesting thing she said was that if it is paid within the same calendar month it is not reported as a late payment. not sure how correct this information is or whether to believe them only time will tell or i could ring back and ask someone else
