Internet/TV for new flat rental

Hi
I am moving into a new build, unfurnished flat which I will be renting for 6 months in the first instance.. The flat has no telephone line or internet connection.
I am enquiring about the best way to get wifi in the flat. Do I need to pay for a land line phone line or do I just go to the cheapest internet provider and they will set me up. I just need wifi for checking e mails, whatsapp and internet searches. No big downloads.
I am also looking for information on the best arrangements for getting a wide range of channels on my TV without having to pay a fortune to Sky every month. If possible, and at a reasonable cost,  I would like the main channels plus Sky or BT sport. If it is too expensive I will buy a TV with freeview.

Thanks for any help.

    Freeview is free.

Re: Wifi, apply to somebody, give them your address and they'll take it from there.  You may be charged for this, but sometimes they'll chuck it in for nothing to install a new line if you stay with them long enough, usually for far longer than 6 months  All the best deals are 18 months.

Alternative is mobile internet but may not be particularly cheap in the long term.  Needs decent signal.

Once you get an internet connection Now TV is another option, which is the poor man's Sky, streamed over the internet.    Many discount deals around on it.  May not be suitable on mobile internet.

Check if the flat has Freeview. Many landlords are really cheap and won't give you a working TV point and will object if you want a satellite dish! That would leave you with the only option of streaming through internet, so you would want a real internet connection.

Also check if he flat has a BT landline installed or if there is a Virgin Media point installed. If it has neither you'll have to pay the installation charge and might have to wait weeks for installation. If it already has one, then activiation is cheaper and quicker.

For a short rental mobile broadband may be acceptable. Mobile wifi routers are available, but if you want to stream video then it might get expensive as your usage won't be low.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

No law is enacted against users .The law can and does move against the suppliers of content . Sky particular hot at bring actions with the EPL . ISP may block the service .

I meant the site you linked to....Not this one.
Anyway, you seem to have corrected the link now, or, somehow it was hijacked earlier. It went to a rather dodgy site and not the streaming site you intended. I thought it was a bit unusual for you, hence the question...
