Kindle app issue with Mini Ipad

Since last week's kindle app update, the last page read no longer works, the book reverts back to the first page.
Have checked that whispersync is switched on at Amazon, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my ipad, neither helps.
Has anyone experienced this issue, or any ideas regarding anything else I can try?

Sorry, don't have any helpful suggestions, but just to say my iPad mini 3 (which doesn't use the latest iOS) is working fine with the Kindle app's recent update.  I assume you've googled the problem?

Thanks for replying.  
I have googled and posted on Amazon's forums.  Lots of people seem to be experiencing similar problems, and nothing seems to work.  Will have another google later.

Uninstall Kindle app then download and install new app .

Thanks for replying, have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling from cloud.  Unfortunately, it doesn't help.

I have the same issue, it’s very annoying, there is a workaround but need to sync every time to get it to go to the last page read. I think this is only happening with imported documents / books and any books bought directly from Amazon is still working fine. I wonder why 🤔.

The books on my kindle are from NetGalley, they ask me to read and review, but they are downloaded from Amazon.

Update - there has been a new kindle app update, and problem is now resolved,  Now going to last page, as it should.
