New manager

I understand that a lot of people are worse off than me, due to covid-19. I am sorry for posting this but wanted some help. Basically I have a new manager starting this week, she is going to sit with us all and find out what we do. Now I am worried that she will see what I am doing and think it is not enough and poor perform me. The manager who employed me, got a promotion, she was going to train me in my role but when a new manager came in, she didn’t know about the role and wasn’t given a hand over. I have emailed my manager and her boss and basically was told that my work will increase but due to covid, they do not know when. I do have work to do but if I am honest with myself could be busier.

Your manager will probably see you are underemployed and no doubt will quickly remedy the situationIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

As you have spoken to the people who will be your new managers boss and they are quite happy with the current situation, then I would not worry too much after all they will be the ones your new manager will have to go to if not happy with the amount of work you are have and they already know.

It's part of her role as a manager to ensure staff are trained, developed and used to their full potential. Think of it as a case of her being under scrutiny, rather than you.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

A lot of people have imposter syndrome in the office. I’m sure you do more work than you think you do so I wouldn’t worry too much. You could use this as an opportunity to ask for more work/responsibility1

You have already raised the situation with your managers so there seems little reason to worry. If I was the manager I would see your actions in a positive light, not a negative one.

I wouldn't worry too much. It's usually very hard for managers to quantify how much work you're doing. If you want some brownie points, why don't you initiate the conversation and say you have spare capacity and ready to take on more work. The spare capacity could have been created from becoming more efficient at you job as you progress and become more experienced in role0
