Word- Free?

Hi Folks, My computer broke :'( and I LOST all my info etc on it- Hard drive completely wrecked. However I got a new hard drive- However, I was wondering is there any way you can get Word free as I have only Word Pad... I have  Google Drive but im not really good at working it. Thanks in advance - any help would be appreciated.

    You can get an Office key from Ebay for a few quid, but there's no free version of just Word.

    If you have (or make) a Microsoft account you can use Word for free in the browser.
    Basic, but does the majority of what most people want.

    Bit late for the OP now, but:  backups.  Make them.  This is why.
  • Either try Libre Office or use Word Online, it does the basics but has no bells and whistles.

    Yes there is.  Office 2010 Starter also includes Excel.  Whether its worth the install hastle is another matter (I'm still using it...)

    Apparently Office 2010 starter only works on 10 if you had it installed when you upgraded to 10 from 7, and also apparently you can't install it on a fresh install of Windows 10 either.  So if you have it now and you rebuild the machine, you'll probably lose it.  I believe it uses the same pull technology as Office, ie downloads from Microsoft, and the source files have since been removed.

    Just to bear in mind.
