Old photos on i Cloud

I used to have an iPhone 3gs, but fully converted to Android now.

I suspect that there are some photos on my iCloud. I just logged in and could see all my contacts in there but photos were asking to ensure that I have IOS 8 (?) on my device. Now, the device is somewhere in the depths of the cupboard but IIRC, it's been reset so is there a simple way of seeing these photos?

Have you tried using icloud for windows, I just tried www.icloud.com from my browser (on linux) and it sent a verify code to my iPad  won't help you if your phone is hidden.

Seems like you have none on there then ,have you got an old iTunes backup?

I've tried looking in \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

There are 107 files but most of them are 1 or 2 KB

We (she!) have an old 4 (GS?) in the drawer would that load the relevant IOS (8.1) to investigate further ... or not?

I dont think there was a 4GS but could be wrong, there was a 4S which was last updated last year to 9.3.6.

And in true apple style, they don't make it easy! 😡

It says A1387 on the back which is, of course the 4s - why couldn't it just say that?

Anyway, rant over, 😳, will the 4s run on IoS 8.1?

Then if I reactivated it with my old account details, do we think I will be able to see my old photos?

Why if it runs 9.3.6 and your earlier post says needs 8.1 or later , but if the account on iCloud hasn't got them then they won't show on iCloud on that account, however they may be still on the phone

Well, the old phone is long gone, so they won't be there.

I Tunes on this PC reveals nothing, but there is an old PC somewhere, so will maybe look there.

I've revived the old 4s that was Mrs B's and put in my details and now have three options:-

1. Set up as new. 2. Back up from I Cloud. 3. Back up from I Tunes

No point in doing 1 to find old photos. 2 accepts my username and p/w, offers me T&C, which I accept and then says 'choose back up' but then keeps spinning and doesn't offer me a back up. 3 just gives the I Tunes logo with no suggestions as to what to do next.

I suspect that I'm furloughed ... unless anyone has another idea? 🤷
